About Dangelong

Dangelong is a rural locality in the Snowy Monaro region of New South Wales, about 25 kilometres south-east of Cooma. Its eastern boundary is formed by the Numeralla River, where it meets Dangelong Creek. The name derives from an Aboriginal word applied to an early squatting run established by John Mackenzie in the 1830s, and the run was later opened to selection in the 1870s. The area remains sparsely populated grazing country.
