About Cannington
Cannington is a southern suburb about 10 to 13 km southeast of Perth's CBD in the City of Canning, named after the Canning River forming its southwestern boundary. Established in 1882, it is best known as a major retail and commercial hub, home to Westfield Carousel, Western Australia's first enclosed shopping mall opened in 1972, and serves as the council seat for the City of Canning. Cannington railway station, the Cannington Leisureplex, Canning Town Hall and the Canning River Regional Park are notable landmarks.
