About Yerecoin

Yerecoin is a small town in the Wheatbelt of Western Australia, in the Shire of Victoria Plains, about 156 km north-north-east of Perth. Its name comes from an Aboriginal name for a nearby well, first recorded by a surveyor in 1879. The town began as a railway station on the line north from Toodyay, with the surrounding land subdivided in 1925 and the townsite gazetted in 1966. It serves the surrounding wheat and sheep country as a CBH Group grain receival site, its large grain bins dominating the town.
