About Glentromie
Glentromie is a rural locality in the Shire of Victoria Plains in Western Australia, approximately 30 kilometres from Moora. The locality is home to the State Heritage-listed Glentromie Farm Group, a pastoral station established by Donald Macpherson, who arrived in Western Australia in 1836 as an indentured servant and was granted the first successful pastoral lease in Victoria Plains in December 1845. The homestead and outbuildings, constructed between 1863 and 1878 using ticket-of-leave convict labour, overlook the Moore River East Branch, and by the late 1880s the property was described as one of the finest in the colony.
