About Marburg
Marburg is a rural town in the City of Ipswich in south-east Queensland, about 50 km west-south-west of Brisbane, with its locality extending into the Somerset Region. Originally covered by the dense Rosewood Scrub, the area was cleared and settled by German farmers from the 1870s and grew on the timber, sugar and dairy industries.
