About Tallegalla

Tallegalla is a rural locality in the City of Ipswich, about six kilometres north-north-west of Rosewood in the Lockyer Creek catchment. The name derives from the Latin Talegalla, the genus name for the Brush-turkey, chosen by early settler John Dart when he opened a postal receiving office on his farm. The western terrain is elevated by the Little Liverpool Range and the area supports a small rural community of acreages and farmland.
