About Lethbridge

Lethbridge is a small township in the Golden Plains area of Victoria, on the Midland Highway and the railway line between Geelong and Ballarat, about 75 km south-west of Melbourne. Surveyed as Muddy Water Holes beside Bruces Creek, it was proclaimed a township in 1854. Its bluestone quarries, worked from 1860, supplied railway ballast and stone for buildings including the steps of the Victorian Parliament House.
