About Wedge Island (WA)
Wedge Island is a coastal locality in Western Australia about 180 km north of Perth. The locality takes its name from the wedge-shaped island offshore, known as Wedj Boya to the Yued people. The area is known for its shack settlement established in the 1930s, with around 440 heritage-listed squatter shacks built by fishermen and holiday-makers. The island lies within the Jurien Bay Marine Park.
