About Cooljarloo
Cooljarloo, also known as Cooljarloo Well, is a locality in Western Australia about 170 km north of Perth, in the Shire of Dandaragan. It is best known for its mineral sands mine, where heavy minerals such as ilmenite and zircon are dredged from strand lines on the Swan Coastal Plain and trucked to the Chandala processing plant near Muchea. The mine, which began production in 1990, carries the traditional Aboriginal name of the area.
