About Lancelin

Lancelin is a small fishing and tourist town 127 kilometres north of Perth, Western Australia, within the Shire of Gingin at the end of Lancelin Road and a few kilometres from Indian Ocean Drive. It is close to the wreck of the Vergulde Draeck (Gilt Dragon), a Dutch East India Company ship that ran aground on a reef south of Ledge Point in April 1656 while sailing from Holland to Batavia, and which was rediscovered in 1963.
