About Mount Wells

Mount Wells is a locality and prominent hill in bushland near Boddington, south-east of Perth. The hill, also known as Wourahming Hill, is the highest point in the area and was used as a fire lookout for the surrounding timber-milling district. The original lookout tower was destroyed by fire in 1961; a replacement built in 1962 was renovated in 1997 to provide overnight shelter for walkers on the Bibbulmun Track, which passes through the locality. A 14-kilometre return walk links it to the granite outcrop of Boonering Hill.
