About Banksiadale

Banksiadale is a former timber town and rural locality in the Peel region of Western Australia, about 6 kilometres north of Dwellingup in jarrah forest country. The town was established by the State Government Railways in 1912 as a sawmilling settlement producing railway sleepers, and was abandoned after the mill burned down in 1963. Today the South Dandalup Dam, completed in 1971, floods part of the old townsite.
