About Mount Stirling

Mount Stirling is a locality in the central wheatbelt of Western Australia, in the Shire of Quairading on the Kellerberrin–Yoting Road. It is named after a giant granite outcrop that rises above the surrounding farmland and is climbed for panoramic views, with wildlife sanctuaries sheltering black-flanked rock wallabies around its base. The district was the easternmost pastoral lease in Western Australia when first taken up in 1861, and later became soldier settlement land.
