About Quairading
Quairading is a town in the Central Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, about 166 kilometres east of Perth, and the seat of government for the Shire of Quairading. The name derives from an Aboriginal term recorded in 1872 by surveyor Alexander Forrest, possibly meaning the home of the bush kangaroo. The town developed alongside wheatbelt farming expansion after the railway was completed in 1908, and its attractions include a pink lake, Nookaminnie Rock Nature Reserve and the historic Toapin Weir.
