About Badjaling
Badjaling is a small town and Aboriginal community in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, located about 10 kilometres east of Quairading near the Salt River. Originally gazetted as Yuruga in 1914, it was renamed Badjaling later that year, derived from the Ballardong Noongar word for a nearby soak and spring. The town was established as a railway siding on the York-Bruce Rock line and includes the 272-hectare Badjaling Reserve of native shrubland.
