About Morangup

Morangup is a rural locality in the Shire of Toodyay in the Wheat Belt region of Western Australia, located about 60 kilometres north-east of Perth in the Darling Range foothills. The name derives from the Whadjuk Noongar word "Mooroongap," meaning "place of rain-bearing clouds over large trees." Morangup Hill, rising to 484 metres, is one of the highest points on the Darling Range, and the Morangup Nature Reserve protects significant wildflower displays including blue Leschenaultia andVerticordias.
