About Moondyne

Moondyne is a rural locality in the Shire of Toodyay in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, north-east of Perth. The locality shares its name with the bushranger Moondyne Joe, who was active in the Toodyay district in the 1860s, and contains the Moondyne Nature Reserve, the largest nature reserve in the Shire.
