About Weld Range

Weld Range is a remote outback locality in the Mid West region of Western Australia, about 70 kilometres north-west of Cue. The area centres on the Weld Range, a distinctive series of ancient banded iron formation hills stretching roughly 55 kilometres across Murchison country. It is known for significant iron ore deposits and the nationally heritage-listed Wilgie Mia Aboriginal ochre mine, one of Australia's most important Indigenous cultural sites.
