About Sunset Beach
Sunset Beach is an outer northern coastal suburb of Geraldton in the City of Greater Geraldton, Western Australia, located 6 kilometres north of the Geraldton central business district. Gazetted in 1977 and named for its sunset views over the Indian Ocean, the suburb is bounded by the Chapman River to the south, Chapman Road to the east and the Indian Ocean to the west. Sunset Beach itself is popular for swimming, surfing and fishing and the Sunset Beach Holiday Park provides accommodation. The Chapman River separates it from suburbs to the south and the North West Coastal Highway creates a barrier to the east.
