About Mount Horner
Mount Horner is a rural locality in the Shire of Irwin in the Mid West of Western Australia, named for a prominent peak that explorer George Grey christened after his friend Leonard Horner during his 1839 expedition along the coast. It lies in the Irwin district, named for the Irwin River, which became pastoral and grain-farming country settled from the 1850s.
