About Burma Road
Burma Road is a rural locality in the City of Greater Geraldton in Western Australia, in the sandplain country south of Geraldton. It is named after a gravel track cleared by the Australian Army in 1942 to move forces between Geraldton and army depots to the south, and intended as an inland escape route from Geraldton in case of enemy invasion. The nearby Burma Road Nature Reserve protects remnant kwongan scrub-heath.
