About Bookara
Bookara is a rural farming locality in the Shire of Irwin in the Mid West region of Western Australia, about 12 kilometres north of Dongara. The landscape is open farmland dominated by wheat and sheep farming. The heritage-listed ruins of the Bookara Inn, established in 1867 as the first licensed premises in the Irwin District, are a local landmark.
