About Millars Well
Millars Well is a residential suburb of Karratha in the City of Karratha in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, located approximately 1,535 kilometres north of Perth. Karratha was established in 1968 to house workers for Hamersley Iron mining and later the North West Shelf LNG operations. The suburb is one of Karratha's established residential areas with a high-income mining and resources community and a multicultural population including significant Filipino, Indigenous Australian and New Zealander communities. Millars Well Primary School is located in the suburb. The Pilbara region has Aboriginal habitation dating back approximately 40,000 to 50,000 years and Karratha is near the Burrup Peninsula, Murujuga, which has one of the world's largest collections of Aboriginal rock art.
