About Karawara
Karawara is a suburb of Perth in the City of South Perth, Western Australia, located 7 kilometres south of the Perth central business district. The name is an Aboriginal word meaning green and the suburb was carved from the former Collier Pine Plantation when gazetted in 1973. Bounded by Collier Park Golf Course to the north, Kent Street and Curtin University to the east, Manning Road to the south and Curtin Primary School to the west, the suburb is served by Transperth bus routes connecting to Curtin University, Cannington and Canning Bridge. Waterford Plaza provides shopping facilities in the area.
