About Bentley (WA)
Bentley is a suburb about 8 km south-east of the Perth city centre in Western Australia, on the border of the City of Canning and Town of Victoria Park. It is home to the main campus of Curtin University and the adjacent Technology Park, a concentration of technology and research companies. The suburb is named after John Bentley, a Crimean War veteran who supervised convicts building the Albany Road in the 1860s; much of the area's residential development dates from the 1940s and 1950s.
