About Woodvale (WA)
Woodvale is a suburb of Perth, about 19 km north of the central business district, divided between the Cities of Joondalup and Wanneroo around the Yellagonga Wetlands. Named in 1974 for the district's fine timber, it remained rural until residential development began in 1979. The area's farming past survives in the Duffy House, built in 1911 and the oldest remaining residence in Joondalup, and in the vineyard that still operates from an early market garden homestead.
