About Ruabon
Ruabon is a locality in Western Australia's South West region, in the City of Busselton, about 16 km from the town of Busselton. It began as a railway stopping place called Abba River on the Nannup branch line in 1914, and was gazetted as a townsite in 1925 under the Group Settlement Scheme. The area was renamed Ruabon in 1928, likely after the Welsh town of the same name, reflecting the origins of many group settlers. A school operated here from 1923 to 1941, and the locality now includes the Ruabon Townsite Nature Reserve and a rail reserve.
