About Sandford (Vic.)
Sandford is a small rural locality on the Wannon River in the Shire of Glenelg, situated about 5 kilometres south-east of Casterton in south-west Victoria. Named after an 1843 pastoral run taken up by John Henty, it was once a rival to Casterton and served as the first administrative centre of Glenelg Shire before declining in the motor-car era.
