About Ferguson (Vic.)
Ferguson is a locality in the Colac Otway Shire of south-west Victoria, about 4 km west of Beech Forest in the Otway Ranges. A former timber town, it grew around sawmilling in the mountain forests. A postal receiving office opened in 1919, and the state school, which opened in 1940 in a building relocated from nearby Moorbanool, closed in 1948.
