About Beech Forest

Beech Forest is a small town on a ridge in the Otway Ranges, south of Colac, surrounded by cool temperate rainforest dominated by myrtle beech trees. The area supports potato farming on fertile volcanic soils and is known for the Old Beechy Rail Trail, a 45 kilometre cycling and walking path following the former narrow-gauge railway to Colac.
