About Dartmoor (Vic.)
Dartmoor is a rural township on the Princes Highway and the Glenelg River in south-western Victoria, between Heywood and the South Australian border. It was surveyed in 1852 and named after a parish that recalled the Dartmoor plateau of Devon, England. On the lands of the Gunditjmara people, it is a gateway to the Lower Glenelg National Park, and its main industry is processing timber from the surrounding pine plantations.
