About Bahgallah
Bahgallah is an isolated farming town in the Shire of Glenelg in western Victoria, located south of the Glenelg Highway near Casterton. The traditional owners of the area are the Gunditjmara people. A wooden school was built in 1875, opening with 20 students before 55 children had enrolled by year's end, and it served the local farming community for over a century. The Bahgallah Memorial Hall houses a First World War honour roll.
