About Corack

Corack is a rural locality in the North West region of Victoria, located about 25 kilometres north of Donald and 20 kilometres south of Birchip in the Shire of Buloke. Named after the Corack pastoral run established in 1844 by the Donald brothers, the area is about 40 kilometres north of Lake Buloke, a significant wetland that fills in high-rainfall years. Farm selections opened from 1872 to 1875, and by 1880 the district had a blacksmith, store, and hotel with a creamery established by 1890 and five schools operating at various times.
