About Cope Cope

Cope Cope is a small rural locality in the North West region of Victoria, on the Sunraysia Highway in the Northern Grampians Shire. Once an important staging post on the route north from Ballarat, its lakes provided rest for travellers and later sheep-washing facilities for surrounding squatters. A railway reached the town in 1882, but as larger centres of St Arnaud and Donald took over the trade, the village gradually declined.
