About Harkness
Harkness is a suburb in the outer west of Melbourne, about 38 kilometres from the central business district, within the City of Melton. It was gazetted in February 2017 as one of eleven new suburbs created in the Melton growth corridor, and the new name took effect that August; previously the area was mostly part of Melton West. It is a rapidly growing residential suburb on former farmland near the Melton township.
