About Kurunjang
Kurunjang is a suburb of Melbourne about 36 km west of the central business district, immediately north of Melton, on the traditional lands of the Woiwurrung people. Its name comes from the Woiwurrung words 'kūrūng jang', meaning 'red ground'. The suburb is largely residential, laid out with linear parks and cycle paths along Little Blind Creek and Toolern Creek, and residents use nearby Melton for most shopping. It has developed as an outer suburban area on Melbourne's western fringe.
