About Long Forest

Long Forest is a semi-rural locality on Melbourne's western fringe, about five kilometres west of Bacchus Marsh in the Moorabool Shire. The locality takes its name from the Long Forest Nature Conservation Reserve, a 600-hectare area protecting nationally significant mallee scrub with rare plants, birds and reptiles. Bushwalking and wildlife watching are popular activities within the Lerderderg Valley corridor.
