About Oakleigh East
Oakleigh East is a mostly residential suburb about 16 km south-east of Melbourne's central business district, in the City of Monash. It lies between the Princes Highway, Clayton Road, Ferntree Gully Road and North Road. An Oakleigh East post office opened in 1918 near the then East Oakleigh railway station, and the suburb sits close to Oakleigh's shopping and dining precinct and Monash University's Clayton campus.
