About Tremont
Tremont is a small suburb about 31 km east of Melbourne, in the Dandenong Ranges. Almost the entire suburb lies within the Dandenong Ranges National Park, surrounded by tall forests of mountain ash. The Post Office, known as Dunstan's until 1919, operated from 1913 until 1977. The area was affected by the Dandenong Ranges bushfire of January 1997.
