About Rowville

Rowville is a large residential suburb at the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges, about 27 km south-east of Melbourne's city centre, in the City of Knox. It was named in 1903 after the Row family, whose Stamford Park homestead was the focal point of the district from the 1880s. Rowville remained a dairying and poultry-raising area until the 1980s, when it became one of Melbourne's fastest-growing residential suburbs.
