About Narre Warren East
Narre Warren East is a semi-rural locality in the Shire of Yarra Ranges, about 38 km south-east of Melbourne's CBD. It grew from the hamlet of Muddy Creek, named after the creek that flows through the district, and despite its name lies north-east of Narre Warren proper. A short-lived post office operated here in 1911-12 and a state school served the district from 1912 until 1987. The locality remains hilly green countryside on the edge of the Dandenong Ranges.
