About Oaklands Junction
Oaklands Junction is a locality on the north-western outskirts of Melbourne, about 25 km from the central business district, beyond the city's Urban Growth Boundary. The area, once part of the Shire of Bulla, takes its name from the Oaklands Hunt Club, founded in 1888, and had a post office from 1865 until 1971. Newer residential development includes the Oaklands Park estate, built from 1997, while the surrounding land is still largely rural.
