About Attwood

Attwood is a suburb of Melbourne about 17 km north-west of the central business district, in the City of Hume near the Moonee Ponds Creek. It is named after James Attwood, who bought most of the land in 1929 and sold part of it to Victoria Police, whose driver training track, dog squad and mounted branch are the suburb's best-known features. The surrounding farmland was later added to the Gillibrand State Park.
