About Heidelberg West

Heidelberg West is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, about 10 km north-east of the city centre in the City of Banyule, on the Darebin Creek parklands. In 1956 the suburb hosted the Summer Olympics athletes' village, which was converted into a Housing Commission estate after the games. It contains The Mall, an open-air shopping centre built in the 1950s, and the Repatriation campus of the Austin Hospital.
