About Bellfield (Banyule - Vic.)

Bellfield is a small residential suburb in the City of Banyule in Melbourne, Victoria, located 9 kilometres northeast of the Melbourne central business district. Bounded by Darebin Creek to the west, Bell Street to the north, Waterdale Road to the east and Banksia Street to the south, the suburb is predominantly residential with Ford Park and Liberty Park Reserve providing sporting fields on Banksia Street. The Bellfield Cricket Club has represented the suburb in the Heidelberg District Cricket Association since 1934, based at Ford Park. The Banyule Waste Recovery Centre is located on Waterdale Road and the Bellfield Community Centre serves as a local hub. In 2012 the City of Banyule acquired part of the former Banksia LaTrobe Secondary College for residential development.
