About Eltham North

Eltham North is a residential suburb about 21 kilometres north-east of Melbourne's central business district, separated from the older township of Eltham by Diamond Creek. The area was originally the rural part of Eltham known as Glen Park, and grew into a distinct locality after Eltham North Primary School opened in 1925; a post office operated from about 1934 to 1966. The suburb retains much of its natural character, with bushland reserves along the creek valleys.
