About Middle Park (Vic.)
Middle Park is an inner suburb of Melbourne, about 5 km south of the central business district, lying between Port Phillip Bay and Albert Park Lake. Developed from the 1870s on land that was part of the Albert Park reserve, it retains some of Melbourne's finest Victorian terrace housing, much of it protected in a heritage-conservation area. The Middle Park Hotel, built in 1889 with iron-lace balconies, and the long-established primary school are local landmarks.
