About McKinnon
McKinnon is a residential suburb 13 km south-east of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, between Ormond and Bentleigh, within the City of Glen Eira local government area. It was named in 1897, by shortening the name of McKinnon's Road railway station, which had opened in 1884; the road was reputedly named after a settler. The suburb is known for the highly regarded McKinnon Secondary College, which draws families to the area.
