About Bentleigh
Bentleigh is a suburb in south-east Melbourne, Victoria, about 13 kilometres from the city centre in the City of Glen Eira. It is named after Sir Thomas Bent, a local market gardener who became Premier of Victoria, and was once covered in market gardens supplying Melbourne with produce. Centre Road is a busy dining and shopping strip, and the Frankston railway line serves the suburb, which also contains the unbounded locality of Patterson.
