About Hampton East
Hampton East is a suburb about 14 km south-east of the Melbourne CBD, in the City of Bayside. It was formerly known as Moorabbin West until it was renamed Hampton East in 2000. Much of the suburb was developed in the 1950s as a State Housing Commission estate of about 950 dwellings, and it now forms a residential area between Hampton and Moorabbin.
